About friendlist

History of friendlist

friendlist started with a reunion. Two friends, eight years apart — not because of a falling out, just life doing what life does. When they finally caught up, the question wasn’t why they’d drifted. It was: why did it take this long?

That question became an app. Because the truth is, most of us have a version of that story — someone we keep meaning to call, a friendship that’s quietly fading, a contact from years ago we still think about. Not from lack of care, but from lack of a nudge.

We built friendlist to be that nudge. A simple, private space to keep the people who matter organized and close — and to remind you to reach out before too much time passes. No feeds, no noise, no algorithm. Just your people.

We’re a small team that takes this seriously. We listen closely, ship improvements regularly, and measure success by one thing: whether friendlist actually helps people stay connected to the ones they care about.

Features of friendlist

  • Everyone who matters, in one place: Friends, family, colleagues, that interesting person you met at a conference — add anyone in seconds and keep everything you know about them right where you need it.
  • Never let important moments slip by: Birthdays, anniversaries, check-ins — friendlist tracks the dates that count and nudges you to reach out before the moment passes.
  • Your people, organized your way: Group contacts into communities for any corner of your life: close friends, work clients, the book club, the tennis crew. Planning something? Everyone’s already in the right list.
  • Some circles stay private: Certain relationships are nobody else’s business. Lock any community behind a PIN — invisible to anyone who picks up your phone, accessible only to you.
  • Every get-together, perfectly accounted for: Coming soon — plan private events, invite exactly the right people from your communities, and never accidentally leave someone out.
